The Bryant Building project started in late July and completed in November. The works were carried out for Darien Ventures SA and the contract was a JCT Design & Build novation. The existing building is a non listed 4 storey terraced building with a basement situated on Great Eastern Street. The building was built at the turn of the Century and has a rear elevation on Willow Street. The existing building was a form of warehouse originally and consisted of two separate buildings. With the use of additional steelwork the buildings have been converted into one building and new floor levels created, new high performance sash windows enable the building envelope to meet a much higher standard. The Category A fit out has an urban industrial feel with exposed brickwork, exposed ductwork and services and crucifix steelwork that has been restored to its former glory.
All floor plates have raised access floors facilitating a modern working environment. New pavement lights have been installed and balconies with voids to allow borrowed light into the basement area and give a comfortable working environment. The project received a BREEAM Good rating, which on a project of this nature is a good rating to receive.
